A new mom's best friend...almost!

There once was this nursing pillow

And then, there was this pillow cover! :)

If you are following me on Instagram, you might have seen some sneak peeks in the last few days! I don't know about you, but my nursing pillow has been sooooo useful when I had Livia. Since it's a girly/ flowery model, I decided to do a cover for its second life! After all, I'm going to be using it quite a lot within the next year, so why not make it pretty?
(Yes, I'm THAT KIND of mom! Pretty things are always more fun!)

Woven fabrics are :
Michael Miller, Dumb Dot in Gray
Patty Sloniger for Michael Miller, Socks the Fox in Aqua
Patty Sloniger for Michael Miller, Les Amis de la Foret in Gray

Now, moving on to another crafty project (My list being quite long! Ha!)
Have a lovely day guys!
Talk to you soon!

Lucky baby!

Today,  this awesome package came in the mail!
I've already talked a bit about my "virtual" friend Emilie over here. She's such a talented woman! We've met through Facebook & Etsy and, even though we've never actually met in person, we share conversations from time to time via Facebook. I still can't believe how kind & generous she is. The pieces she created for Logan are perfect! I love everything about them! The colors, the theme...it's simply perfect! And what can I say about the packaging? Isn't it gorgeous!

Wooden teether/ rattle
Pacifier clip...with Logan's name!!!!
Her wooden teether/ rattle & customized pacifier clips are available in her amazing Etsy shop, along with other original products! You can also find her on Facebook!

Thanks again Emilie! You're the sweetest! xx

MAT LEAVE...Here we come!

It is now official! I'M ON MAT LEAVE!!!! Yay!

The last few weeks have been pretty exhausting so I'm glad to finally be home full time!

To kick things off, this morning, we had a nice lifestyle family photo session. Can't wait to see the results! Livia was a bit grumpy at first, but with a 2 hours session & about 400 pictures taken...we should have some nice shots! ;) I'll make sure to share some pics with you guys once I'll get them!

Photoshoot props...
The next few days will be dedicated to family time & cooking (because I'd REALLY like to be able to prepare some freezer meals for the arrival of our little men) so I might not be around much! If any of you have recipes ideas for me, feel free to share!  Ideas are always welcome! :)

Wish you all a great weekend!
Keep in touch

What to expect...How to prepare?

Am an only child...I can hardly relate to what it can feels like to know that soon enough, you'll become a big sister or a big brother. Even though Livia is only 26 months old, I strongly believe that she is aware that things won't be the same when her little brother will be around.

Lately, she's been really demanding (I've already talked a bit about it here) and I'm convinced it has something to do with the upcoming birth of her baby brother (My boyfriend on the other hand keeps saying that she can't really be aware of all the upcoming changes, that it's only her "terrible twos"...)
Bedtime is getting more & more difficult...And I have less & less patience each & every night...But that's an whole other story.

What I really wanted to ask you guys is how did you prepare your kid for the arrival of a 2nd baby?
I try to talk as much as possible about baby Logan with Livia & try to involve her in all the changes occurring in the house...for example her new bedroom, helping me "folding" (yeah right, whatever!) & storing the baby clothes in her "old room", telling her she's lucky to now have a new bigger space...

Livia's 1st book in English!
I also recently bought this cute book (Livia is sooooo into books...even after 2-3 stories at night, she ends up crying when we close the lights & tell her it's time to sleep...that's one of the bedtime challenges I was referring to...) and thought I could wrap it up & give it to Livia when she'll come meet her baby brother at the hospital when the times come. This book would kinda be a gift from Logan...and as soon as I'll be on mat leave (7 business days left! woot woot!), I'd like to make a little soft toy with Livia for her to give to Logan after his birth...Let's kick things off on the right foot, right?

This little sensory plushie is adorable, right? You can find the tutorial over here!
If any of you have 2 (or more) kids, feel free to share your stories & tips in the comments below!
I'd love to read what you have to say!

Have a good night!

Welcome to Tantrum City....

You know the kind of days were your kid (or kiddos...) only goal seems to be making sure that you go nuts...that you loose your cool...
Well yesterday was this kind of day (so today, I'm pretty thankful that my mom had planned to take Livia to the zoo! The moment couldn't be more right!)

These last few weeks, Livia has been very clingy & demanding.
The up-side: I get a lot of kisses, hugs & cuddles which is quite pleasing.
The down-side: she tends to be quite capricious and can easily turn into a drama queen! A MAJOR drama queen.

For example, yesterday, we went shopping for a few stuff missing for her toddler room. When we got out of the Home Depot, she didn't want to walk back to the car & she absolutely didn't want my boyfriend to carry her either...she wanted ME to carry her. We explained to her that mommy, with her big belly, had trouble carrying her because she had back pain & Livia was a bit too heavy for mommy...Forget it! She completely lost it and made a scene, right there, in the middle of the parking lot!

In moments like these, I take a deep breath & remember this post I once read on the Yes I want cake blog about parenting a 2 years old & the phase we usually refer to as the TERRIBLE TWOS.
Here's just a glimpse at what Katie had to say & I think she couldn't be more right:
"But, HONESTLY. Two year olds are fantastic. I refuse to ever refer to this year as the terrible-twos. That’s just silly. Of course there will be challenges, probably at every age...I’m determined to call out her good behavior. Not her terrible behavior. Not only does doing so change my attitude about parenting, but it’s such a huge part of building her identity...There are times when she does ACT terribly, though...That’s terrible behavior. Not (even close to) a terrible little girl."
(You seriously need to read the whole post over here)

Some days are definitely harder than others...but in the end, when I take a look at a sweet picture like this one, it makes me forget (almost!) all the tough parts & savor the good ones!

Hope you are all having a nice weekend!
Talk to you soon!
