So, how was your Halloween?

Our day started with a grumpy little peacock who didn't want to put on her costume! :(
But it seems that after seeing her little friends at day care with their costume on, the little miss finally enjoyed herself! :)

I tried to snap a few pictures to share with you guys...please note that some pics have been taken at 5:30am, with my Iphone, under poor lighting! Ha! ;)
And unfortunately, it was quite difficult to take picture of my lil' pumpkin in her outfit!!! Let's just say she didn't really want to collaborate!

It's HALLOWEEEEEEEEENNN!!!!

I TOTALLY had to share this with you because I was simply too freakin' excited about it!
A few months ago (while I was still on mat leave and pinning away like crazy on ...you guessed it...Pinterest!) I came across this amazing peacock costume and totally fell in love!

I decided that it totally had to be my lil' pumpkin 1st real Halloween costume (because last year, she was about 6 months & I had put together this very last minute "mermaid" costume...so it doesn't really count as her 1st REAL costume! Haha!)

So last weekend, I bought all the supplies I needed (basically tulle, felt, elastic...that's about it!), created my little pattern for the peacock feather pieces and started sewing away! Here's a sneak peek of the work in progress...

I ended up with enough fabric to also do an adult version for myself! Call me Mama Peacock! ;)

My life lately...a "Rockstar Diaries" inspired blog post!

Today, I wanted to do something fun!
I discovered Naomi's blog a few months ago & totally fell in love with it! It's called Rockstar Diaries... her style his great , her blog is fresh, crisp & clean, her pictures are beautiful (to say the least!) & her kids are freakin' adorable! :)

Once in a while, she does those blog posts called "life lately, according to my iphone pictures..",which I particularly love! So here's a little blog post totally inspired by Naomi & her great blog.

Chicken noodle soup...

I totally hate being sick!!!
I hate it because I feel like nothing's being done!
I hate it because I feel awful, I look like a mess and the house is a real disaster!

If I haven't really been around the last few days (especially on social medias) it's because I was trying to get rid of my nasty fever & my awfully sore throat... I've been eating chicken noodle soup for the last 3 days because I'm having a hard time swallowing anything that's a tiny bit solid  :(

I realized that it was the 1st time I've been sick & felt this bad since I'm a mom... and I'm sure all you mommies out there can relate.When you have a high fever & can barely stand up due to all the muscles pain, but you have this energetic little one screaming & running around the house, you almost wish you had a remote control with a huge pause button! Haha! Seriously, being sick is never fun, even if you only have yourself to take care of...but being sick when you have to take care of a little person...that's another story!

I'm hoping I'll feel better by the end of the weekend!

Uh oh!

Uh oh!!! Uh oh!...
 I don't know how many times we've heard this this weekend!
Those are like Livia's new favorite words! Uh oh!!!
Lately, she's been like a real sponge, taking in every information, analyzing everything we say, trying to repeat after us...

It all started when we came home to this:

We said "Uh oh!" when we noticed that the dog had chewed her xylophone...then she kept repeating and pointing at her xylophone!

After that, we heard "Uh oh!" when she showed us the palm of her hand, blue from the marker that she had destroyed... "Uh oh!" when she spilled all of the rabbit food on the floor... "Uh oh!" when she drew on the table instead of the HUGE sheet of paper I had given her..."Uh oh!" when she "accidentally" (yeah right!) dropped her dinner on the floor....

But I have to admit...each and every times she said those 2 words, it was simply the cutest thing ever! :)

Happy times!

Today was a good day!
Even though the weather was a bit uncertain, we decided to go enjoy some apple picking and we had a great time, just the 3 of us! It started raining lightly just when we were about to leave, so we had time to fill up our baskets, run after the chickens (we'll we didn't actually ran after them, Livia did!), buy some fresh apple juice and a pie (yeah, I cheated, I bought one directly at the orchard simply because a) it looked good & b) I didn't have any dough ready to make one tonight... but I swear I'll make some soon!)


Unfortunately, I forgot to bring our camera ( I usually bring it almost everywhere, but I guess we just left in a hurry because we didn't want to get caught by the rain!) so below pictures were taken with our Iphones...

This picture was taken at the exact same place about a year ago...time flies by so fast! I just can't believe how little she was!!! And how tired I looked! Haha! ;)

I'm planning to cook some of these apples as I do every year... apple butter, apple crumble (our classic), apple sauce...

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!

Ok, so far, this week has been really exciting! :)

You know when they said that everything would turn out fine...THEY WERE RIGHT!
Who are they?  Colleagues, friends, family...name it!
The new job is simply amazing! I know it has only been 3 days and the honeymoon might not last forever, but let's face it, there are more pros than cons to this new job of mine! And that's perfect! :)

Great team, lovely people, lots of creative tasks which I absolutely adore!
A great space, flexible hours (you know what? I've been able to arrive home around 5:15 - 5:30 pm which seems too good to be true!) Gives us much more family time which is absolutely priceless! Let's just say that I'm really grateful this opportunity came my way!

Simply wanted to take a few minutes to share all the excitement with you guys!
